Your Youngster’s First Day Of School
After 4 years spent at home your kid has grown and developed it’s own little manners. They are not as dependent upon you as they were before and the house is getting too little for them. Some children are clearly showing a desire to learn more. That can differ from drawing to reading or working out puzzles while they play. It’s at that point they’re eventually prepared to take the very next step and start their decade long career in schools. Out with those diaper bags (luiertassen here in Holland) and in with the crossword puzzles! You might say.
It will feel ungainly at the beginning. It’s really hard for a parent to let go of their child. But if you were a stay home mom or dad I think you might be looking forward to it. As gratifying as it might be that last year can take quite a heavy toll on your mental well being. As your kid is growing it wants more things worth doing and you do not have the time to amuse them 24/7. There are more things to do like the dishes, laundry or merely relaxing yourself.
At some faculties there’s a grace period where your youngster can get accustomed to school. They have to learn the guidelines and begin to know other children before you leave them there for 6 hours per day. It is a large transition, one that should not be taken lightly.
There are a few things you can do as a parent to ease them into this transition. One is to let them play with other children in your area for extended amounts of time. Another is to at least make sure that they can make it throughout the day without their afternoon sleep. Regular play times and eating food at set times is another good way for your kid to become used to a school like routine.
Which ever way you go at it, letting go will be the toughest part. But don’t worry as soon as you notice how fun and challenging college is for them you may lose those feelings within a few days.
